Foundational Expertise in Organic Soil and Plant Systems

Biostream Environmental’s approach to WSUD and biofiltration systems is grounded in extensive experience in commercial organic horticulture.

This includes the successful transition of production nurseries from chemical-based to organic systems, involving soil health assessment, tailored nutrient programs, and integrated pest management strategies.

This background provides a practical understanding of soil structure, nutrient dynamics, and plant performance — critical factors in the long-term success of biofiltration and environmental systems.

BiOSTREAM has successfully supported the transition of commercial production nurseries in Queensland and New South Wales from chemical-based to organic management practices.

This included the formulation and supply of NPK-rated organic mineral fertilisers tailored to site-specific requirements, alongside the implementation of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.

Working closely with local operators, BIOSTREAM ENVIRONMENTAL delivered:

  • Assessment of soil health and fertility

  • Development of customised organic fertiliser programs

  • Implementation of integrated pest management systems

  • Ongoing monitoring and performance evaluation

This transition improved plant health and vigour, reduced environmental impact, and supported the long-term sustainability of nursery operations. By reducing reliance on synthetic chemical inputs, these systems delivered more stable, resilient, and environmentally responsible outcomes.
